Childhood Collection
This site is dedicated to my childhood collection. I didn't have many ponies as a child; I received them as gifts (mostly from my mother) in 1994-1996, when I was 5 - 7 years old. This is a guestimate, since I have no pictures or anything. As much as I loved them, I didn't much play with them until a few years later, with a good friend of mine, and unfortunately, G1s were no longer available in stores then.
I remember bitching about G2s, how small their eyes were and how small in general they were, and only bought one - Sweetberry. Didn't really play with her, though. However, if I had seen the twins and babies in stores, I am pretty sure I would've loved them, but after a few years I decided to stop playing (thus collecting) since I was getting too old.
I found two ponies on a fleamarket while still playing with my friend; one was Italian Applejack who had a few marks and I felt so bad for her (she was like an old gal to me). I loved her very much, and still do! The other was a manky Sparkler, with a frizz so bad and mold inside I ended up making her a custom, who now lives with my friend :) Sparkler was always considered a father, and wasn't that big a part of our playing.

Getting my first ponies
My first ponies were Precious Pockets Bubblefish and Glow 'n' Show Dazzleglow. I don't remember which one I got first, but I think it was Dazzle. I was so young I don't remember how or when, either. I do have both ponies still, and the only thing wrong is Dazzles hair is poofy after a lot of frizz. I was so sad back then because her hair was ruined after I combed it so much, but when I think about how much I played with my ponies I think it's wonderful they're still in so great shape. I haven't cleaned any of them, even though they are a bit grubby, but I want them to stay like they were (apart from Dazzles hair).
Bubblefish, to the left, is still in very good condition. I thought her pet was so neat ^_^ This set was my first to complete as collector.

Dazzleglow - my magic unicorn
To the right is Dazzleglow, my only unicorn (until Sparkler, but I didn't find him before the end of my playing era, so to say). I aways thought she was magical, with her glow in the dark stars and everything.
My Dazzle is the european version of the Glow 'n' shows Dazzleglows. In the US, she was released with blue hearts instead of pink, otherwise identical. I don't know if it's because this version was mine as a child, but I like the pink heart version the best ;) I have the entire set now, also the US version of Dazzle, they were one of my first sets to complete when I began collecting last year (2008).

Ringlets - a trip to the grocery store
Ringlets is the only pony I remember getting while my mom, I and a friend was out shopping groceries. They had a huge pile of her, all marked down due to clearance (why didn't we get a few extras? LOL). Anyway, I remember seeing both her and Highlights, but I chose this girl. I was mad about pink then, as I am today ;)
I remember sitting in the cart with her, opening her when we got home and admiring all that hair! My friend got one too, my mom always spoiled us (she later told me she locked the car keys inside the car and we had to wait for my dad to come on his bike - and we lived about an hour away from the store) I don't remember any of that, just that I got this wonderful pony!
Two of her accessories got lost (her yellow comb and small pink plastic bow) - I replaced them later, though, I was so lucky to find another one of her in a lot with those two accessories!

Diamond and Ruby - a nice surprise
Diamond and Ruby was my two last ponies ever to get directly from a store. I remember my mom came into my room, smiling, with her hands on her back, and told me to pick one. I knew she had something awesome, so I chose one, and she gave me one, then the other! I was smiling all over my face, lol. These soon became the darlings of my collection, especially Diamond, since I always played her, and my friend played as Ruby. I was very careful and saved their accessories so they didn't get lost, and did the same for the ponies, but somehow Diamond got lost when I grew up. I have no idea where she is, I've searched everywhere. I was so sure she was hidden in a special place, but if she is, I can't manage to find her. :( Still mad about it today, but luckily I still have Ruby and her accessories - and Diamond I bought in Fall 2008 with her accessories, as a replacement. Getting her in the mail was the best day ever, no kidding!
