Circus Pony (Single and Mother & Baby sets)
Circus Ponies were sold during the 90's and rereleased again later. The main difference between vintage and releases are their eyes; vintage have painted eyes (IMO much more flattering) and rereleased have glass-eyes. This only goes for the adults, though, as far as we know in the fakie community no babies with glass-eyes have been found.
There are two different kinds of saddles used on the vintage ponies. The pony to the left, a gift I received from Skimble, is a mother from a mother and baby pack released, as far as I know, only in Australia. She was also released in purple and aqua with matching babies, and variations of these has been found. Finding two completely identical vintage fakies have proved to be a difficult task ;)

Single Circus Pony release
A gift from Skimble, this pony was sold alone with no baby. The mold with the saddle she is wearing is the one used for rereleases. The saddle is quite different from the mother from the M&B sets, and the flowers on the headgear is purple to match the purple flower from the saddle.
So far I have not seen this color in lots or for sale outside Australia.

Pink Circus Pony - variant or a mix?
This girl is from Australia. I don't know whether she is a factory flaw or another version of the single Circus Pony release, but one thing is certain; she's a little mystery!
Characteristics;
Head from Pink pony (mother and baby set-mother) - blue trim on headgear.
Body - purple flower and square-blanket from single pony set).
Hair pink, like single pony.

Yellow Circus Pony
Another single pony from Australia, this time found in a lot featuring G1s, G2s, G3s and other vintage fakies on Ebay.
I LOVE this color, she is so bright and cheerfull.
I have seen a wonderful dark magenta with purple hair from an auction site in Denmark, but unfortunately the seller never responded me and quickly after I wrote them removed their ad.
Edit; The baby have also been spotted on ebay. *sigh* One day ;)

Orange Circus Pony and Baby
This set is from Denmark, I traded with Lykke who have had them since she was a child. Until these were discovered, we only thought the round-saddle version came with babies!
I've seen this girl and her baby a few times from sellers in Germany, so I think she was distributed in the Netherlands and the rest of Scandinavia as well.
Vintage circus babies can be hard to tell from rereleases. In general, if they are made from either vaguely transparent, very squishy plastic and have short hair in low quality, chances are good they are vintage. I have 2 vintage babies from Germany, waiting for their own photoshoot, who I haven't been able to locate mothers for yet. They might have been released in babypacks similar to the Ballerina babies.
A rerelease of the baby has been made, with much softer hair and less see-through.

Blue-haired Single Pony
This girl is from Germany, bought with a lot of other fakies (The seller had been hoarding them, to my luck, not being able to throw them out). Her flowers are blue, the small dots around her blanket is light pink and her hair feels rough.
Blue-haired Single Pony - Version 2
Also bought from Germany, this pony was supposed to be a double for a friend. When they arrived, though, I found out they had a few differences enough to call them two different variants. Her hair is shorter than the other ponys, much more soft (though had been plaited so kind of wavy - even my flattening iron couldn't get it straight!).
The biggest difference is her purple flowers, on top of her blanket and headgear - and her trim around both are a more bold pink than the blue-flowered version.
Check out the comparison picture to see the difference ;)

There's babies..
Two vintage babies, bought from Germany. The hair and plastic is more transparent and rough than rereleases..
(I plan on making a site for rereleased babies in the future).

And there's a Monster.
This HUGE circus baby was purchased on a fleamarket in Denmark, Summer 2009. She has glass inset eyes and it appears there should have been eyelashes, since there's a small slit in the eyes.
